2011 Goals

One of the main reasons I decided to call my blog “Staying on Track” is because I’m a former track runner who somehow forgot the importance of goal-setting and making sure I am mindful of my goals so that I can achieve them.  Here is how I’m doing with my 2011 goals:

  • Run 5 races including the Army 10 Miler on October 9, 2011 (Ran: St. Patrick’s Day 8K, Cooper River Bridge Run 10K, Crystal City Twilighter 5K, Run! Geek! Run 8K, Army 10 Miler)
  • Try 5 types of new exercise (tried: Kazaxe, Yoga, Pilates)
  • Improve my knowledge of basic nutrition and apply much of what I learn to my daily eating habits (have started reading more nutritional websites and create a weekly meal plan)
  • Read 35 new books, five of which are nonfiction (tracking via Goodreads.com)
  • Take a class to learn a new skill or improve an old one
  • Attend a professional conference or workshop (attended: Blog World Expo New York)
  • Get involved with a volunteer organization (regularly volunteered with: Girls on the Run)
  • Determine whether I want to get a graduate degree (not at this point in my life, but possibly in the future)
  • Travel to 3 new places (New Orleans, Charleston, Harpers Ferry)
